I find being a member of the Home Builders Association of NEPA to be a great asset. I have had customers tell me that they have checked into this association to see if I were a reputable builder, so people do check which is a good thing! Also, I find the association to be informative on being more successful with building tips and together we all help each other. Supporting our members is key to success! Also, last but not least, you do get member discounts. It’s a great and honorable industry to be a part of.

I’ve been a member since the 90’s and when I meet with prospective clients and explain my involvement with the builder association it certainly lends credibility to Summit Pointe Builders, but it is what I have learned over the years through networking with other builders and trades that has save me hundreds of thousands of dollars. The access to NAHB publications, information, code experts, attorneys, etc. that all work for NAHB, is always a great asset to have when needed. I joined Builder 20 Club twenty years ago and that has also proved invaluable.

Builders and remodeling contractors need to be members of their professional associations. Just like an attorney or accountant that are members of their professional organizations, we should be proud to be a member, and it is our duty to be a member to make our voice heard and our industry stronger.
